Kahlua

$8.00

Kahlua is a cozy cardigan featuring simple texture, rib, and cable detail in a gorgeous, squishy yarn. The kniting is easy, but it’s how the elements are paired that makes the design interesting.

Transitions between garter stitch, reverse stockinette, and single ribs play off each other distinctly, and bold braids along each side of the body contrast with the textures happening around them. The sweater fronts are worked around the shoulders to create a beautiful, slouchy collar that results in horizontal lines that play off the vertical detail on the body. It’s all quite easy, but purposefully placed to work together.

A short length and boxy fit also keep this modern and fun, but it’s easy to modify for length or width if desired and notes are in the pattern.

Yarn: Hinterland Range (50% Rambouillet wool, 50% alpaca; 198yds/181m per 3.95oz/112g skein). Sample shown in Honey.

If substituting, choose a heavy worsted to aran weight wool that knits to gauge. A touch of alpaca makes for a nice drape on this collar and with this shape.

Gauge: 18sts/24rows per 4”/10cm in garter rib.
