About Me

After working in various advertising agencies, I took a break to be home with my young daughters and fell into knitwear design, mostly by accident. I’d always been a knitter who couldn’t follow directions without changing things, so the idea of writing my own was pretty organic.  My friends in my knitting group were the ones who encouraged me to start.

The opportunity to combine two of my favorite things – knitting and cocktails – into a career, while having the flexibility to raise my daughters, has been amazing.  I design mostly women’s garments and accessories, and love using cables, lace, and little details to make designs that are classic and wearable, but just a bit unique.

Giving Back

One of the things that I've added to BabyCocktails over the years is a charity element. I was brought up to believe that volunteering should be part of one's routine as they move through the world, and if you have an issue with something, action is way more effective than complaint. My grandparents set an example of doing one thing each week, and with the exception of the years when my kids were babies, I've always done at least one weekly volunteer gig that supports families, kids, women, or education in my community.

Having my own business and a small voice in the world has given me the ability to raise money and support causes I feel strongly about. Since 2016, I've felt even more strongly about what's happening in the world around us. I've tried to consistently use my design work 3-4 times a year to send a donation to various causes, again focusing on families, children, women, equality, and education.

I believe strongly in equality for all. I think Black Lives Matter. I stand for LGBTQ rights, immigrant/refugee rights, and women’s rights. I do think crafting can be an effective political tool. I will not tolerate hate or harassment in any of my spaces.

Below are some of the causes that your BabyCocktails purchases have gone to in the past.
