Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery Cotton Comfort (80% Rambouillet and Columbia US Wool, 20% organic cotton; 180 yds/165m per 2oz skein). Shown in Winter Beech.
If substituting yarn, I suggest a fiber with good stitch definition and even color. I like the Cotton Comfort as it has a slightly rustic quality and feels light and summery. Anything very heavy or drapey might grow over time, and since cottons can change with washing and blocking, be sure to check your swatch! And pay special attention to row gauge.
Gauge: 22sts/28rows per 4"/10cm, based on finished stockinette fabric. Note that row/round gauge is very important in this design.
