Agave
For the last snows of winter, Agave is a quick, cozy hat that celebrates dense cables and thick yarn. It’s simple and satisfying and can be done in plenty of time to wear as February turns into March.
Knit in a fresh, pale green or a deep, complex gray, the lines of these cables are bold and distinct, but still have a lovely softness to them. Agave feels classic, but also modern - and a bit different from your average cabled hat. Look closely and you can see I had a little fun with the design at both brim and crown.

Yarn: YOTH Yarns Father (100% Rambouillet wool; 220yds/201m per 3.53oz/100g skein). Shown in Honeydew and Wild Rice.
If substituting yarn, I suggest choosing one without too much variegation in color or in the thickness of the fiber. You want the distinct nature of the cables to stand out. A soft wool with a little memory works best. I suggest a solid, a subtle heather, a tweed or semi-solid colorway.
