Upper West Sweater

$8.00

The Upper West Sweater is all about this cable motif - it’s both delicate and bold at the same time, with a deep, eye-catching texture. I’ve worked the transitions from hem to body and from sleeve to cuff to allow for a sweet little dip at the end of each cable and added a folded, picot collar that adds to the femininity of the sweater and gives it a bit of a cozy feel.

The deep Caramel color of this De Rerum Gilliatt yarn adds sophistication to the sweater and gives it a modern feel, and the gorgeous merino fiber really shows off the cables beautifully.

The Upper West Sweater is worked in the round from hem to armholes and then separated into front and back. Collar and sleeves are worked in the round, and collar is folded and seamed down..

Cables are both written and charted.

Yarn: De Rerum Natura Gilliatt (100% Merino wool; 273yds/250m per 3.53oz/100g skein). Shown in Caramel.

If substituting, I suggest a worsted weight wool without too much drape or elasticity in a subtle colorway that will show off the details of the sweater well.

Gauge: 20 sts/28 rows per 4”/10cm in cable pattern, based on final blocked fabric. Assume 20 sts/28 rows per 4”/10cm in stockinette.

Needles: US 7/4.5mm, US 6/4.0mm

Sizes:

37.25(41.25,45.25,49.25,53.25)(57.25,61.25,69.25,77.25)”

94.5(104.75,115,125,135.25)(145.5,155.5,176,196.25)cm

Shown worn with 6”/15.25cm of positive ease at bust. Choose the size that allows between 4-6”/10-15.25cm of positive ease for a similar fit. If between sizes, choose the smaller of the two and see notes in pattern on adding width or length as needed.

Yardage:

1100(1200,1300,1400,1500)(1600,1700,1800,1900)yds
