Reposado

$8.00

Reposado is an easy wearing tee that’s a breeze to knit.

It’s all about a beautiful stockinette fabric and what this delicate lace adds to it. The shape here is a classic boxy tee silhouette, with a subtle A-line. The lace is the star, as it gives the sides a little shape and swing and it creates a beautiful, fluttery edging at the armholes. Ribbing at front and back adds to the scalloped hem and gives a bit of finish to the textures. A rolled neckline and the slightly rustic fabric keep the vibe casual and summery.

See below for yarn choice notes. My original version was knit in a light fingering, worked doubled and my latest version is knit in a heavier fingering weight cotton worked with a single strand - and both look fantastic at the same gauge!

Fit/Modifications/Construction

Minimal detail, stockinette panels, and simple shaping on this tee mean modifications are easy. The classic shape works at any length, and can be worn with more or less ease as desired. Since this pattern has been around since 2017, take a look at the finished knits to see how Reposado looks on various knitters, and how it falls when worn with different amounts of ease!

Modifying body length, A-line shaping, or altering circumference is easy on Reposado and notes are in the pattern on how and where to do so.

If choosing a size with more or less ease than shown, consider your shoulders. Wider shoulders will provide more of a tee silhouette (shown in gray, worn with just over 6”/15.25cm of ease). Narrower shoulders give a sleeveless look, as the lace edge falls closer to armhole (shown in white with 4”/10cm of ease). There is a note in pattern on adding shaping to the upper body to manage this if desired.

Reposado is worked in the round to armholes, then worked flat in two pieces to shoulders. Once shoulders are seamed, neckine stitches are picked up and finished in the round.

Lace is both written and charted.

Gray sample shown in discontinued YOTH Best Friend, worked double. Color: Shiitake. Worn with 6”/15.25cm of ease.

White sample shown in Biches et Buches Le Petit Organic Cotton, worked single. Color: Cream. Worn with 4”/10cm of ease and a cropped length.Scroll down for more details.
