Cavalchina

$8.00

Cavalchina is a simple tip to tip shawl, knit in a light and airy fiber. The fluttery, undulating lace pattern along the edge is the star here, and it adds an undeniably modern and delicate vibe to the piece. I find it's so hard to design a piece that's both simple and unique, but this type of lace edging adds something new that I haven't seen and I love it.

Named for a delicious bottle of pale pink wine that you can sip on a patio while the sun sets, my Cavalchina shawl just feels like late July to me! (The wine is Cavalchina 2023 Rose, in case you're wondering - and it's about $20 for a bottle.)

Simple garter stitch at center keeps the focus on the lace, makes for a stretch of easy knitting on each row, and allows for worry-free modifications to your final size.

Skydance Fibers Nova yarn is a light and airy blend of linen, silk, alpaca and merino. The alpaca and merino add softness, while the linen and silk give the fabric a subtle touch of rustic texture.

Cavalchina is knit lengthwise, from tip to tip. The shawl is shaped in the garter section with increases from first tip to the center, and decreases from the center to the final tip.

Notes are in the pattern on modifications to size.

Written and charted instructions for lace pattern are included.
