Bee's Knees

$8.00

Cables and texture. Featuring V-neck shaping that allows the cables to subtly follow the lines of the opening, a delicate shawl collar, a ribbed hem that flows right into the cable pattern, and a beautiful join at back neck. Side detail makes modifications for width easy, and simple edgings make picking up stitches along fronts and armholes simple as well.

Bee’s Knees is worked from the bottom up, then separated at armholes and worked flat to shoulder. Sleeves are worked in the round to cuff. Cables are continued upwards beyond shoulders and seamed down to upper back and the shawl collar is picked up and worked last.

Length or width can be adjusted and shawl collar can be made either deeper or narrower - or worked as a straight button band. Notes are in the pattern on where and how to make modifications.

Cable and texture patterns are both charted and written.

Yarn: Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Worsted (100% merino wool; 400yds/366m per 8oz/228g skein) or Neighborhood Fiber Co. Studio Organic Worsted (100% organic merino wool; 200yds/183m per 4oz/113g skein). Sample shown in Studio Worsted, colorway Oliver.

Note that the Studio Worsted has a lovely body and a good deal of memory. If working this pattern in a yarn with less “boing” to it, your gauge could be a little looser if it relaxes with blocking. Swatch both cable pattern and body texture before beginning, and check that your gauge in texture does not change when working sleeves in the round.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches in textured motif, but should be same in stockinette.

Needles: US 7/4.5mm

Sizes:

34.5(37.5,40.5,43,46.5,49.5)(52,55,58,62.5)”

Sizes are based on final, blocked fabric and reflect measurement around finished sweater, when worn closed. Choose the size that gives you about 4-6”/10-15.25cm positive ease based on your actual bust measurement for fit shown.

Yardage:

1150(1250,1350,1450,1550,1650)(1700,1750,1800,1850)yds
