1908

$8.00

1908 features the Ionian cable from my Irish Coffee Tunic, translated into a completely different garment.

This top is a versatile pullover that works equally well as a vest, a tee, or a long sleeve sweater. It pairs some eye-catching texture with gorgeous, vibrant color in a classic silhouette. The cable here is easily memorized and fun to work.

As always, there are small details throughout to keep it fun and all the transitions are intentional. The hem goes from ribbing into cables with a beautiful curve, the armhole shaping leaves you with a neatly finished edging, and the sides of the body are designed to allow for modifications for fit, should you desire.

I've knit mine with short sleeves and a cropped length, and I chose this stunning Indigo dyed blue in A Verb For Keeping Warm's Horizon. Because really, THIS BLUE? LOVE.

This is one of my favorite yarns - a soft but sturdy Rambouillet worsted that I've used in the past. It's a perfect weight for a little warmth, it's next-to-skin soft, and a joy on the needles. Kristine's hand dyed colors on this base never disappoint, and it's always also gorgeous in natural shades.

Yarn: A Verb for Keeping Warm Horizon (100% organic New Mexico Rambouillet wool), 160yds/146m per 50g/1.76oz skein. Sample shown in Indigo Blue Sky.

If substituting yarn, I suggest a wool or wool blend in a light worsted weight yarn. Another woolen spun fiber in a solid, semi-solid, tweed or heather would work well. A subtle speckle might also be beautiful here. I do not suggest yarns with pronounced texture or variegation. Memory in substitute yarns may vary, be sure to block all swatches.

Gauge: 23 sts and 28 rows/rounds per 4”/10cm in cable pattern on larger needle.

Needles: US#6/4mm and US#7/4.5mm

Sizes:

33.5(37.5,41,45.25,48.75,53)(56.5,60.5,64,68.25)”

85(95.25,104.25,115,123.75,134.5)(143.5,153.75,162.5, 173.5)cm

For fit shown, I suggest between 4- 6”/10-15.25cm of positive ease.

Yardage:

1000(1100,1200,1300,1400,1550)(1600,1650,1700,1750)yds
